This mini course gives students the tools and insider perspective needed to build a strong creative portfolio for applications to UAL (University of the Arts London) and other top art and design schools. Students will learn how to present their skills, identify what’s missing, and understand what admissions tutors are really looking for. The course is both practical and inspiring, combining real portfolio examples with hands-on exercises.
Intensive Workshop: Guiding Students (6 hours with a break) Through one sample project, students gain hands-on experience applying UAL’s portfolio methodology. They will practice connecting research to outcomes, describing their creative journey, and presenting their work clearly. This workshop gives them a practical framework to apply to their own projects.

This workshop is based on the previous information session on portfolio.
Students receive a step-by-step overview of portfolio building with insights into what works in successful applications. This lecture shows how to connect research, process, and outcomes into a clear, engaging portfolio narrative.

About the Tutor:
Krystyna Khara is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and creative producer with over10 years of experience. She has taught creative students internationally, specialising in portfolio consultancy, interactive arts, and visual storytelling. With a background in MA Illustration and Visual Media (UAL), she guides students to develop research-driven portfolios that reflect their individuality, strengths, and future aspirations.

Drawing materials — pencils, coloured pencils, crayons, watercolor (a few tubs, or a few sets for sharing), a few acrylic tabs, other materials (pastels, markers, etc)
Wet tissues
Tablecloth or smth similar to cover tables
Masking tape (3 units) can be different thickness
Transparent Tape

Scissors
Paper cutter
cutting mat or cardboard
